Biography

 


Tom was born in 1959, and spent his early years in Virginia.  He worked in agriculture and the nursery industry, and studied horticulture at Virginia Tech .  Tom completed his undergraduate studies with an emphasis in art history at the University of Richmond in 1989.

 

In 1992, Tom completed graduate studies at the University of Virginia, with a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture.

 

Tom has lived in Modesto, California with his partner, John, since 1992.  In addition to his photographic projects, he cultivates a small olive farm.   Tom received lay ordination in the Zen tradition in 2011.
